STEM INTRO Bootcamp launched!
During summer 2020 our First Virtual STEM INTRO Bootcamp Program debuted. Our STEM INTRO BootCamp, is an interactive, hands-on series of short STEM challenge activities where students to encouraged and engaged in using science, technology, engineering and math principles to create and build strong structures! The program focuses on inspiring critical thinking skills while promoting creativity and team building to help students become excellent at solving STEM problems!
STEM High school students Measurements lab (Summer 2016)
During the summer 2016, our High school students learn about Mechanical Engineering and how to Statics and Dynamics problems. During the summer students participated in multiple projects, one in particular was going outdoors to collect data during their survey measurements laboratory. Students were excited that they were able to apply the principles that they learned in their static and dynamics courses to complete the experiment for their measurements lab. Students prepared a lab report and presented the data they collected during our Powerpoint group presentations.
Robotics 101: Students learn how to code using Lego Mindstorm
During the summer of 2017, our students learn about Robotics and how to program Lego mindstorms ev3 for the robots to do everyday household chores. Students were excited that coding was very understandable and they really enjoy learning more about how to code commands for gaming and advance robotics.
Adventures at Sea! Students take over the Chesapeake Bay through exploration.
Our first GEM STEM programs began in the Summer of 2017. During that time our student learned about the environment and how to save the bay be protecting our natural habitats in the ocean and on land. We took a field trip where students got to explore marine biology and also learned how to recycle and keep our environment safe from toxic waste and they even got to play with the freshwater fish and sea animals. The students enjoyed themselves learn about our ecosystem, freshwater animals and natural ways of protecting our environment by recycling and being good citizen of our earth. The students would like to thank the Chesapeake wildlife for excellent tour of the freshwater animals in the potomac and surrounding rivers in Alexandria, VA.
